    Downers Grove Township Electronics Recycling Program 8 a.m to Noon at their Highway Department Facility at 318 E. Quincy Street in Westmont. The program will be held on the third Saturday of each month, unless that date falls on a holiday. There are a few program changes including a charge for TVs.     Due to COVID-19, the Conservation Foundation has modified its River Sweep Program and has declared the entire month of May as DuPage River Sweep Month. Foregoing the originally planned group event, the Conservation Foundation is encouraging citizens to get out and show some love to a waterway near you.     The Storm Drain Stenciling Project consists of volunteers working together to spray paint a stencil around stormwater drains so that people know not to put dangerous materials into the storm drain. All supplies will be provided.

  4. Cancelled - EIC Environmental Programs at the Library

    May 16, 2020, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM @ Westmont Public Library

    GARDENING AT THE LIBRARY 10-11:30am This family-focused program will recruit participants to help plant the straw bale garden at the Library. Guests will use library tools to plant flowers and vegetables, and then be invited to stop in throughout the summer to see the garden grow. FAIRY GARDENS 11am-noon Families are invited to drop in to create a fairy garden including plants and other embellishments, while supplies last. PLANT-A-CACTUS 2-3pm This event is geared for teens who will be invited to decorate a pot and plant a cactus to take home, while supplies last. SPRING MASON BEES 2-3pm This program for adults will teach people how to be a beekeeper, without the worry of being stung. Learn about the life cycle and management of mason bees, an easy-to-keep pollinator native to northern Illinois. Registration required. Register online at, by phone at 630-869-6150, or in person.
