Posted on: March 27, 2019[ARCHIVED] Sign Up Now For 2019 Westmont Kids Summer Safety Camp

This summer, the Westmont Fire and Police Departments will be hosting the 2019 Kids Safety Camp. There will be two camp sessions offered this year: Wednesday and Thursday, June 19 and 20; and Tuesday and Wednesday, July 16 and 17. The two-day camps will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day.
“We always try to update our curriculum for safety camp and this year we’re adding a bus safety lesson,” said Westmont Police Community Service Officer Rosanne Terry, who is one of the coordinators of the camp. “It’s important for young people to understand that they are also responsible for their own safety, and that includes knowing how to be safe when getting on and off a bus around schools and crossings.”
The camp provides an opportunity for 8, 9, and 10 year old children to spend time with their local heroes and learn much more than just the usual safety lessons. Applicants must live or attend school within the Village of Westmont or participate in a Westmont-based Cub Scout or Brownie Troop.
