October is National Disability Awareness Month (NDEAM). NDEAM is a nationwide campaign that celebrates the contributions of workers with disabilities. WorkNet Dupage is hosting a Diverse Ability Hiring Event Oct 17, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the workNet DuPage Career Center’s “Diverse Ability Hiring Event” in Lisle. Industries represented include healthcare, hospitality, service, entertainment, logistics, and government.
“This hiring event represents a great opportunity for job seekers with disabilities. In DuPage County, we emphasize the importance of ensuring that all residents have access to the services and supports they need to enable them to work,” said Economic Development Committee Chairwoman Tonia Khouri.
In attendance will be employers from Brookfield Zoo, Northwestern Medicine, Goodwill Industries, Dealer Inspire, Home Goods, AMC Theaters, Gerber Collision & Glass, Image FIRST, Buck Services, UPS, DuPage County, and Embassy Suites.
