The Westmont Environmental Improvement Committee and the Westmont Public Library are scheduling several environmental-focused presentations. “It’s great to see so many residents attend these programs who are eager to make their homes more eco-friendly,” said Village Forester Jon Yeater. “The more residents who participate in this initiative, the greener Westmont will be.” All presentations will be held at the Westmont Library, 428 N. Cass Avenue:
Light Pollution and Responsible Outdoor Lighting

Where did all the stars go? Drew Carhart, executive board member and co-founder of the Illinois Coalition for Responsible Outdoor Lighting will discuss the impact of outdoor lighting on the quality of life in our communities and the environment. Join us to learn responsible lighting strategies that can help maintain our starry skies.
Pest Control and Your Healthy Home
Tuesday, July 10, 7 - 8 pm
Community Meeting Room
Midwest Pesticide Action Center’s executive director Ruth Kerzee will present simple strategies for combating pests, weeds, and mold by using safe and effective means, including the use of Integrated Pest Management and Natural Lawn Care.
