On Saturday, June 2, 2018, the Westmont Police Department will host an Open House and Auction of Unclaimed Property at their facility at 500 N. Cass Avenue.

“Our open house is a great opportunity for our community to get an inside look at their police department while having a fun time in the process,” says Westmont Police Chief Jim Gunther.   “There will be several activities, refreshments, and we will have officers on hand to answer questions. I invite everyone to attend this event. We’re very proud of our department and we look forward to spending time with our residents.”

AUCTION - 9 A.M.
The auction will begin at 9 a.m.  Pre-auction inspection will be at 8:45 a.m.  The auction will take place at the rear of the Police facility.  Guests are asked to park in the Westmont Library parking lot, 428 N. Cass, or the DuPage County Health Facility parking lot located just south of the Library.

Items being auctioned will include bicycles, home decor and other misc items. All sales are final, all items are sold as is, and no returns will be accepted.  Participants may pay for their purchase in cash or a check if they are a local resident.  Credit card purchases are not accepted. 

OPEN HOUSE - 11 A.M. - 3 P.M.
The Police Department Open House will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  There will be facility and vehicle tours, kids events, and food provided by the Westmont Lions Club.

For children ages 6 through 13, activities will include a radar-timed baseball throw and a horseshoes-like handcuff toss event.  Kids and families will also be able to take pictures while sitting in a squad car.  Everyone will be invited to post their event pictures on social media.  Everyone will also be invited to participate in a CSI-style crime scene situation.  McGruff and Radar the remote-controlled squad car will be on hand.

The Police Department will also have several information tables providing materials regarding our Citizen Police Academy, Special Olympics, Animals and general safety information.  Also, hot dogs and refreshments will be provided by the Westmont Lions Club.
