The Westmont Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Pet Promenade on Sunday, May 20, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ty Warner Park, 400 Blackhawk Drive. The Pet Promenade and Party in the Park event celebrates, educates, and encourages compassion and awareness between area families and their pets. The event will feature vendors with treats, pet toys, pet photos, dog training information, rescue information, and much more. There will also be a petting zoo as well as police dog and border collie sheep herding demonstrations.
Also part of the celebration, the Westmont Park District will host a kite flying event. The Chicago Kite Club will provide demonstrations and show off their assortment of kites. At 1:00 p.m. there will be a “Candy Drop,” which allows kids to collect candy that falls from the kites.
Be sure to sign up for the Pet Promenade parade which begins at 1:30 p.m. The pet contest will feature awards in several categories including Best in Show, Best Costume, Largest Pet, Smallest Pet, and Most Unusual Pet.
