In an effort to improve inspections of businesses with liquor licenses in the community, the Village of Westmont is partnering with the State of Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC) on a new program that allows the Westmont Police Department to conduct inspections to ensure compliance with ILCC rules and regulations.
Through the program, the ILCC will provide financial assistance and training for designated police department staff. This reallocation of responsibilities will improve annual inspection coverage in Westmont. Areas of inspection include health and sanitation, license and insurance verifications, and accurate advertising practices. Upon completion, results of the inspections will be reported to the ILCC.
“Ultimately, this program will help ensure that local businesses are meeting expectations and serving our residents in a proper and safe manner,” said Westmont Deputy Liquor Commissioner Tom Mulhearn. “We look forward to working with the State on this initiative.”
