Village of Westmont
Date Issued: February 2, 2018
The Progressive Village Performance Network theatre group and the Westmont Park District will host the 6th annual Frozen Film Festival on Saturday, February 17, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., at the Hollywood Blvd Cinema at 1001 75th Street in Woodridge. Audiences will have the opportunity to view filmmaking’s newest talents at this special theatrical presentation. Judging will take place at the conclusion of the festival and awards will be distributed to filmmakers earning top ranks in various categories including comedy, drama, documentary and junior filmmaker, which features films from local Westmont students.
“Our junior filmmaker category is a very exciting component of the festival,” said Brian Polacek, from Rage Agency in Westmont who coordinates the event. “Junior high students were introduced to the basics of filmmaking in a classroom setting and then tasked with taking those skills into the business community. The resulting films have been an amazing way to bring kids and Westmont businesses together.”
For more information on the festival, contact Steve Golembiewski at the Westmont Park District at sgolembiewski@westmontparks.org or 630-963-5252.
