There will be a special showing of the documentary “Kelly’s Hollywood” on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 6pm at the Westmont Police-Fire Facility at 500 N. Cass Avenue. The viewing will take place in the Fire Bay on the north side of the building. This unique dinner and movie special event, which is a fundraiser for Special Olympics, will feature the director of the documentary, Brian Donovan.
“The Westmont Jr. High School and the Police Department have partnered on several new events this year to raise funds for Special Olympics,” said Westmont Jr. High School Assistant Principal Amy Quattrone, who is one of the coordinators of the event. “This is a wonderful and moving documentary. We are fortunate to have this opportunity.”
“Kelly’s Hollywood” tells the intimate story of an aspiring actor who brings his sister, born with Down Syndrome, to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming a Hollywood diva. As her health begins to fail and she becomes increasingly jealous of his fiancee, he is forced to confront his co-dependent sibling relationship and the threat that it poses on his engagement.
Tickets are $13 for adults, and $7 for kids 12 and under. Dinner will be provided and served by some of Westmont’s Finest. RSVPs for tickets are needed by Monday, October 16. For more info and to RSVP, contact Detective Nick Glynn at nglynn@westmont.il.gov or 630-415-4625.
