PRESS RELEASE
Date Issued: December 15, 2012
Members of the community have banded together to coordinate a remembrance vigil to bond our community as we mourn the victims of the tragedy that occurred in Connecticut on Friday, December 14. The vigil will be held at the west pavilion at Ty Warner Park, just north of the intersection at Burr Oak Drive and Plaza Drive.
“This vigil is a chance to bring people and our community together during this extremely difficult time,” says Westmont resident and District 201 parent Jim Schlicher. “There will be a few speakers who will share their thoughts and feelings about the tragedy, which we hope will help people get through this tough situation.”
The remembrance vigil will begin at 7 p.m. and people are asked to bring a candle.
