Village of Westmont
Date Issued: July 20, 2016
To help celebrate the Village of Westmont’s 95th Anniversary, the Westmont Lions Club is bringing the circus to town. “Not everybody knows this, but Westmont used to have a circus in town,” said Lions Club member Jim Addington. “The Curtis-Gregg Circus used to reside on the southeast side of town near Oak and Dallas. The Lions Club and the Anniversary Committee thought it would be fun to bring a circus to town to help celebrate our 95th. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Anniversary Committee.”
The Kelly Miller Circus will come to Westmont and perform two shows at Ty Warner Park on Sept. 23. Shows will be at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Advance ticket sales will cost $6 for children 2-11 and $12 for kids 12 to adult, kids under 2 free. Day of show tickets will cost $8 for children and $16 for adults.
The Kelly Miller Circus has been in existence since 1936 and currently performs in more than 200 cities each year. The circus performance will include acrobats, clowns, an elephant, and an assortment of animals. Come in the morning to watch the truck roll into the lot and see the big top rise into the air. You can watch the animals get unloaded and and talk with the circus staff.
