Village of Westmont
Date Issued: March 12, 2016

The Westmont Park District (WPD) and People’s Resource Center (PRC) have announced that they will be co-hosting the 7th Annual Race to the Flag 5K in Westmont on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Ty Warner Park. For the first time, People’s Resource Center, located in Westmont and Wheaton, will be the beneficiary of the race.

“The Westmont Park District chose to work with PRC because they are a fantastic local charity with the proven ability to reach out to a great number of people in need and provide amazing services,” says Bob Fleck, Westmont Park District Assistant Director.

“PRC is honored to partner with Westmont Park District for the annual Race to the Flag 5K run/walk event,” says Sarah O’Donnell, PRC’s Director of Development. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and support neighbors who are in need. PRC is especially grateful to the support of the Park District, Village, as well as sponsoring businesses around the community who are joining the effort to help us end poverty through this fun event.”

The race will be held at Ty Warner Park and will begin at 8 a.m. It is a CARA and USTAF Certified 5K course and a chip timed event. ABOUT PEOPLE’S RESOURCE CENTER
Since 1975, People’s Resource Center has been bringing neighbors together to respond to hunger and poverty in DuPage County. With a team of over 2,200 volunteers, we offer nutritious food and other basic necessities like clothes and rent assistance for people facing tough times.
