“The Village of Westmont has had regular posts on social media for several years now,” says Village of Westmont Communications Director Larry McIntyre, “but now we’re planning to step up our publishing of informational posts. Our goal is to make sure we are providing good information for our residents regarding community news, programs, services and events. We ask everyone using social media to sign up for our various accounts.”
Some of the additional posts will include themes such as: Motivational Mondays, Green Tip Tuesdays, Westmont First Wednesdays, Pet & Wildlife Tips, Throwback Thursdays (Westmont History), Shop-Dine-Discover Westmont Weekends, Police & Fire Safety Saturdays, and Senior Life Sundays.
The Village has launched a new Twitter account featuring Westmont School Resource Officer Det. Nick Glynn. “If we want to connect with families and students, then social media is the most popular and viable communication platform available,” says Det. Glynn. “I hope people sign up for our various social media accounts so that they can be connected with what’s happening in the community. My twitter feed in particular will focus on my role as School Resource Officer and highlight things happening in our Westmont schools.”
