At their Jan. 7 meeting, the Village Board approved the new Strategic Plan. “This is the culmination of over six months of work that involved representation from throughout our community,” says Mayor Ron Gunter. “We want to thank Lynn Montei for leading us through this process. Now we look forward to developing the implementation plan.”
The Village of Westmont Strategic Plan provides a bold vision for the community over the next several years as the Village moves towards its 100th Anniversary in 2021. The document places all goals and objectives into five (5) categories: Governance, Identify & Image, Downtown, Economic Development, and Infrastructure. Each category outlines various goals as well as strategies for completing these goals. The newly adopted Mission Statement for the Village is:

“At our last meeting, we identified that Trustee Jim Addington will serve as the Chair of the Strategic Plan Oversight & Implementation Committee,” continues Gunter. “The process we used to create the Strategic Plan incorporated the input and perspective of the entire community. As we move forward, we expect that there will be great opportunity for our citizens to continue to be involved. The development of this group will begin soon.”
