Village of Westmont
Date Issued: Sept. 16, 2015
The Village of Westmont recently approved Phase I work, which includes preliminary engineering design services, for two separate Stormwater Management Program initiatives. One project is in regard to the intersection near Naperville Rd. and Warwick Ave. and the second project is at the intersection of Norfolk St. and Linden Ave.
“The Village has been working on several stormwater management initiatives throughout the community,” says Village Manager Stephen May. “We’re prioritizing projects based on feedback from our Stormwater Committee and information we’ve received from citizens as well as considering factors of cost and scope. As most residents are aware, our citizens approved the stormwater-infrastructure sales tax referendum last Spring, so we will now have funding to start addressing these types of concerns.”
This Warwick project pertains to the vacant triangle property near Warwick, Naperville Road, and Chicago Avenue. Engineering Solutions Team, a civil engineering consultant, has been contracted to perform Phase I services, which includes studying the area and providing specific recommendations for the creation of a new storm sewer extension. The plan is to have Phase I completed in time for the 2016-17 Village Budget so that Phases II and III can be implemented. Phase II include actual design and bid preparation, and Phase III is actual construction.
Strand and Associates have been contracted to complete Phases I and II for the project at Norfolk and Linden. It is projected that these phases will be completed in time for Phase III consideration in the 2016-17 Village Budget. Phase III includes construction and completion of the project.
Additional updates regarding the Village of Westmont Stormwater Management Program will be published on the Village Website at westmont.illinois.gov/stormwater.
