“We wanted to do something that promotes pet adoption that would be fun for our staff as well,” says Rosanne Terry, Village of Westmont Community Service Office and Animal Control Liaison. “It’s important that people know that there are animal care resources available to them including the information regarding animal adoption and volunteering.”
Terry and Communications Director Larry McIntyre have created a Village People & Their Pets 2016 calendar, which is free and can be downloaded from the Village Website at westmont.illinois.gov. Each month features a picture of a Village staff person with their pet as well as information about pet adoptions and animal fun facts.
“We’re using the calendar to help promote the Westmont Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Pet Promenade event,” says McIntyre. “This event has grown every year and we’re looking forward to our best year ever.”
The Westmont Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Pet Promenade and Picnic in the Park on Saturday, September 12, 2015, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ty Warner Park.
