This year’s Village of Westmont Patriot Day Ceremony will be held on Friday, Sept. 11, 2 p.m. at the Police-Fire Facility at 500 N. Cass Avenue. Patriot Day is held in remembrance of those who lost their lives, including police and fire personnel in the call of duty, during the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001. There will also be several guest speakers at the event.
“It’s important for people to remember the tragedy of that day and those who gave their lives trying to rescue others,” says Westmont Fire Chief David Weiss. “We encourage the entire community to attend this moving event.”
