DuPage Mayor’s and Manager’s Conference (DMMC) has launched a fast-action website which citizens can use to quickly engage with their locally-elected State officials regarding proposed budget cuts that will harm local government agencies. The goal of the DMMC is to make sure that citizens are aware of the possibility that local municipalities could lose up to 50% of their current revenue received from the State.
Citizens are encouraged to go to the website www.protectmytown.com and follow the prompts to generate an email to their State Representative, State Senator, and Governor Rauner supporting the continuation of LGDF revenue to fund essential local services.
The DMMC has created a video that clearly explains the potential harm to local towns and counties if this revenue source is cut.
