“Because it’s the 15th year of fireworks at Ty Warner Park, our fireworks presentation is going to be bigger than ever,” says Park District President Diane Main. “We hope everyone can come out and enjoy this incredible community event.”
The Village of Westmont and Westmont Park District will co-host the annual Independence Day Celebration at Ty Warner Park on Friday, July 4, 2014. The event and fireworks are sponsored by WestmontAutoMile.com.
“We want to thank the Ogden Avenue car dealerships who are part of WestmontAutoMile.com,” says Mayor Ron Gunter. “Without their generous support, the annual fireworks presentation would not exist. We encourage everyone to give their patronage to the Westmont Auto Mile businesses.”
Independence Day activities begin at 4 p.m. with the food vendors, kid’s crafts and petting zoo. The Westmont Community Band will begin at 4:30 p.m. At various times between 5 and 6 p.m., there will be the Uncle Sam stilt walker, face painting, balloon sculptors, barnyard bingo, and kid’s games. The Grand Avenue Big Band will play from 7:30 to 9:15 p.m. and the fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.
Guests are reminded to pay close attention to the special traffic patterns and parking restrictions around the park during the event. For more information, contact the Westmont Park District at www.westmontparks.org or 630-963-5252.
