“Health and wellness is extremely important,” says Brian Gaeto, owner of Harmony Hair, located at 824 E. Ogden Avenue in St. James Crossing. “The store owners up here have really jumped on board with this concept and we’re looking forward to a great event. Each store will have different specials and health related activities, and then we’ll have several wellness presentations including yoga, healthy dieting, martial arts and more.”

The first Westmont Health & Wellness Expo will be held at St. James Crossing, near the intersection of Ogden Avenue and Pasquinelli Drive, on Sunday, June 22. The kickoff Walk With The Mayor event will actually take place at Ty Warner Park at 9 a.m. After the walk, everyone is invited to join the Mayor for brunch at Jimmy’s Island Grille at 10 a.m. Then, the main event is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. James Crossing. There will be over $1000 in free raffles and giveaways to sign up for. Following is the event schedule:

9 a.m. - WALK WITH MAYOR GUNTER & CLERK SZYMSKI
Ty Warner Park - West Pavillion
Meet at Ty Warner Park pavillion off of Burr Oak and walk the mile loop with Mayor Gunter & friends

10 a.m. - BRUNCH WITH THE MAYOR AT JIMMY’S ISLAND GRILLE
St. James Crossing - 800 E. Ogden Avenue
After the walk, meet at Jimmy’s Island Grille for Brunch and Chat with Mayor Gunter

11 a.m. - HEALTHY EATING WITH DIETICIAN KATHY SHELDON
St. James Crossing - 800 E. Ogden Avenue - Under the Main Tent

11:30 a.m. - YOGA-PILATES DEMO BY JEAN LaPLACA

NOON - MASTER YOUNG KIM MARTIAL ARTS DEMO

12:30 p.m. - MINDFUL BREATHING MEDITATION FOR STRESS RELIEF WITH YVETTE MARIE JOHNSON - bendorbreak.org

During the event, guests are invited to visit the stores of St. James Crossing to sign up for the various raffles as well as receive health and wellness information. Following are some of the specials and raffle prizes that will be part of the event:
