Village of Westmont
Date Issued: April 14, 2014
The Village of Westmont has recently hired a consultant to lead the community through a series of conversations which will help with eventual development of a stormwater utility proposal. “This is an important step necessary to move forward in this process,” says Municipal Services Director Steve May. “At the request of the consulting group, AMEC, specific community stakeholders have been invited to participate in these discussions, however, all meetings are open to the public and we encourage everyone with an interest in this topic to attend.”
The established meeting schedule dates are: April 15, May 6, May 27, and June 10. The first meeting will be Tuesday, April 15, 7 p.m at the Village Hall. Times and locations for the subsequent meetings will be determined at the first meeting. The timeline allows time for AMEC to receive community feedback and then create their final presentation for the Village Board, which is tentatively slated for Thursday, July 10.
“The Citizens Stormwater Stakeholders Group (CSSG) will serve as a focus group for the community,” says Village Engineer Kim Nicoll. “We need the community to get involved so that the final plan includes the perspective of residents, businesses, and other public agencies.”
