The Village of Westmont will launch a new mobile app and community business listing in 2014. The app will feature Village municipal information, community news, and a business database that will list licensed businesses in the Village of Westmont.
“We’ve been researching mobile app options for several years,” says Westmont IT Manager Glen Liljeberg. “Recently, this opportunity became more cost effective and now the timing is right to move ahead.” Village of Westmont Communications Director Larry McIntyre adds, “Our Village Board continues to make communication a priority. These new mobile apps will greatly enhance the ability for residents and visitors to connect with our community.”
“We want to make sure that our businesses are well promoted,” says Westmont First Chair Bruce Barker. “In January, our volunteers will be going out and meeting with our local businesses to provide details regarding this opportunity and make sure their contact information is accurate. This app will allow potential patrons to easily contact and visit our local businesses.” In addition to getting a free listing on the new app, businesses will also have the opportunity to post additional information to promote their products, services, and specials.
This app will be available to both Android and iPhone users. Development of the app will continue through the winter with a formal launch expected in the first few months of 2014. Westmont businesses are encouraged to contact the Village for more information regarding how to utilize the app as well as sign up for Westmont First.
