2023 Holly Days Festival Schedule of Events

Westmont, Illinois – Date Issued: October 17, 2023

Holly Days 2023

Holly Days is a month-long celebration of fun for the whole family hosted by a variety of Westmont organizations and public agencies. The highlight of the season is the Frosty & Friends Parade followed by the tree lighting ceremony and pictures with Santa on Saturday, December 2 in downtown Westmont. PHONE CALLS FROM SANTA
Sign Up At The Westmont Park District By December 1
Parents can stop by the Westmont Park District Community Center at 75 E. Richmond to fill out our Phone Calls From Santa form. Santa will be making calls on Tuesday, December 5 between 5:30 and 8:00pm. Santa must have all the forms turned in by Friday, December 1.

SANTA SLEIGH VISIT
Sign Up Online By December 8
Sign up for a Santa's Sleigh Visit and have Santa stop by your home to deliver presents to your children. Santa Sleigh visits will be scheduled for December 11 through December 15. Registration fee of $40. Sign up online for program details at westmontparks.org.

ANNUAL HOLIDAY CRAFT BAZAAR
November 12 - 9AM-3PM
Westmont Community Center - 75 E. Richmond Street
The Annual Holiday Craft Bazaar will be held on Sunday, November 12 at the Westmont Park District Community Center. Stop by and check out all of the gift ideas. Event admission is free.

SNOW MUCH FUN
December 1 - 5-8PM
Veterans Memorial Park - 75 E. Richmond Street

Come and check out all the outdoor activities at Snow Much Fun. You can take selfies in Santa’s sleigh or in the giant snow globe, try out the inflatable kids slide (nominal fee), and go for a mule-drawn wagon ride around the park and check out all of the holiday decorations. Visit the Gregg House Museum to help make s’mores and then visit Santa.

FAMILY ORNAMENT DECORATING 
December 1 - 9:30AM-4PM 
Westmont Public Library - 428 N. Cass Avenue

Stop by and create two bird-friendly tree ornaments—one for yourself and one for the Library’s community tree.

WHS BAND BOOSTER CRAFT SHOW
December 2 - 9AM-3PM
Westmont High School - 909 Oakwood Drive

Shoppers will find nearly 200 crafters and artists offering something for everyone. This event will also feature raffle prizes and live music performances by the band students. Event admission and parking are free. Donations to help support our bands are always welcome.

FROSTY & FRIENDS PARADE - TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY - SANTA & FRIENDS PHOTO BOOTH
December 2 - 5PM
Downtown Westmont

Mark your calendars for the annual Holly Days Frosty & Friends Parade, Tree Lighting Ceremony & Santa Photo Booth. The parade route travels south on Cass Avenue starting at Naperville Road, then crosses the railroad tracks before heading west on Quincy Street. Immediately following the parade, everyone is invited to help with the Tree Lighting Ceremony countdown on West Quincy Street. Afterwards, everyone is invited to take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus in the Westmont Train Station.

PAPER WREATHS
December 7 - 4:15-5:00PM 
Westmont Public Library - 428 N. Cass Avenue

Create a whimsical paper wreath for the winter season. This event is designed for children grades K – 2.

WINTER WREATH MAKING
December 7 - 5:15-6PM 
Westmont Public Library - 428 N. Cass Avenue

Create a unique winter wreath that will add a touch of frosty flair to your door. This event is designed for children grades 3-5.

ELF TRYOUTS
December 7 - 6-7PM
Westmont Park District - 55 E. Richmond Street

Santa has a lot of presents to deliver and needs your help - Come to this Holly Days event and become an official Elf for Santa! Applicants will be put through a series of fun Elf tests to see if they can earn their own Elf hat. If accepted, you will earn your Elf hat and be able to take a picture with Santa on his sleigh. Registration is $20 for residents and $25 for non-residents.

SANTA’S TRAIN RIDE
December 10 - 9AM-2PM
This event starts at the Westmont Train Station and travels to see Santa at the Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora. Once there, you will be served a buffet breakfast, be able to do Christmas crafts, and visit with Santa. Participants must pre-register; cost is $55 per resident.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA & FRIENDS
December 10 - 9-11AM
Park District Administration Building - 55 E. Richmond Street

This event includes breakfast, a wonderful holiday show, and a chance to meet and take pictures with Santa. Each child will also receive an exclusive, homemade holiday gift. Don’t forget your camera. Sign up early - Cost is $24-$28 per person. Children 2 years and under are free.

‘TIS THE SEASON: HOLIDAY TRADITIONS FROM RADIO’S GOLDEN AGE
December 13 - 6:30-7:30PM
Westmont Public Library - 428 N. Cass Avenue

This presentation, brought to you by radio host Steve Darnall, offers a box full of classic seasonal sounds from radio’s past, designed to spur the imagination and share a bit of Yuletide spirit. 

DROP-IN CARD MAKING 
December 16 - 2:30-4PM
Westmont Public Library - 428 N. Cass Avenue

Stop by the Makery to see our Silhouette cutting machines in action and create a holiday card for someone special.  

SNOWY DAY DROP-IN CRAFTS 
December 27 & 28 - 9:30AM–7:30PM
Westmont Public Library - 428 N. Cass Avenue

Drop in and get creative - Crafts are designed for preschool and grade school audiences. While supplies last.
