As part of the BNSF railroad crossing and station track improvements in Westmont, the Cass Avenue crossing will be closed on June 17 and July 8. On these dates, the crossing is expected to be closed to both motorists and pedestrians from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.. There will be additional work scheduled at a later date requiring a similar closure.
PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS CLOSED DURING IMPROVEMENTS
During these specific dates and times, pedestrians will not be able to cross the railroad tracks at Cass Avenue, nor at the pedestrian crossing west of the downtown Westmont train depot.
When the Cass Avenue crossing is closed, the nearest railroad crossings available to motorists will be Prospect Avenue in Clarendon Hills and Fairview Avenue in Downers Grove. BNSF will coordinate advanced warning signs and detours during the closure.
