BNSF has scheduled work on the railroad crossing at Cass Avenue beginning Friday morning, May 19. The work is expected to take 9 days and the crossing is scheduled to reopen in the afternoon of Saturday, May 27.
During this project, Cass Avenue at the BNSF train crossing will be closed. The nearest road crossings available to motorists will be Prospect Avenue to the east and Fairview Avenue to the west. BNSF will coordinate advanced warning signs and detours during the closure.
Pedestrians will not be able to cross the railroad tracks at Cass Avenue; however, the pedestrian crossing west of the downtown Westmont train depot will remain open.
