On April 22, the Westmont Police Department hosted the semi-annual DEA National Take Back Day event in Westmont. With the assistance of Mariano’s pharmacy staff and students from Midwestern University, the event collected over 270 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs. The goal of the program is to collect unused drugs so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner.
RxBOX PROGRAM
In case you missed the Drug Take Back event, the Village of Westmont participates in an on-going RxBox Program. This program allows residents to place unwanted prescription drugs in the RxBox during business hours. Westmont has two RxBox dropoff locations:
- Westmont Police Department - 500 N. Cass Avenue
- Johanik Fire Station Headquarters - 6015 S. Cass Avenue
The RxBox dropoffs are located in the lobbies of these two facilities and can be accessed during regular business hours. For more information, visit the RxBox website.
