Metra recently launched metratracker.com, which is a new real-time website that allows customers to see precisely where their train is and when they will reach their station. Customers can also use metratracker.com to view schedules and plan trips. The home page for metratracker.com features three primary links:
- Station Times – Check for train departure times from selected stations.
- Real-Time Map – Check the location of specific trains and see exactly where the train is and how soon it will reach a specific station.
- Trip Planner – Plan a trip using Metra and other modes of travel between addresses or locations. Selection options include Best Route, Fewer Transfers, and Less Walking. Additional options include the ability to choose “Leave Now” or enter a preferred departure or arrival time.
The new train-tracking equipment is currently being installed on Union Pacific, SWS and BNSF trains. Tracking on these lines will increase as the rollout is completed this year. For more information, please visit metratracker.com.
