Mark your calendars and get ready for Wicked West Fest 2022.  Wicked West Fest is a month-long festival of Fall and Halloween events and activities.  Following are some of this year’s highlights:

ADULT TAKE & MAKE CRAFT - FALL BANNER
September 12 - All Day
Westmont Public Library - 428 N. Cass
Stop by Westmont Public Library’s Adult Services to pick up a kit containing basic supplies and instructions, then take it home to create. For more information, visit the WPL website at westmontlibrary.org  

FALL & HALLOWEEN WINDOW MURAL PROGRAM
September 30 - Sign-Up Deadline 
Throughout Westmont
Hosted by Westmont Special Events and the Creative Arts Network, area businesses are invited to sign up to have their windows painted by our incredible local artists with Fall & Halloween-themed murals. More information and sign-up details have been posted on the Westmont Special Events website at westmontevents.com   

WESTMONT SCARECROW DECORATING CONTEST
September 26 - Sign-Up Deadline 
Downtown Westmont
The entire community is invited to participate in the Westmont Scarecrow Decorating Contest hosted by the Westmont Chamber and the Historical Society. Decorated scarecrows will be on display throughout downtown Westmont and everyone will be invited to vote online. For more information and to sign up, please visit the Chamber website

THE LAST STRAW
October 2 - NOON-4PM
Gregg House Museum - 115 S. Linden
Come to the Gregg House Museum for a variety of fun family activities: Make a scarecrow (nominal fee), decorate pumpkins, meet a beekeeper, enjoy music fun with Tim Wilsey, visit the petting zoo, pan for gold, and more. For more information, visit the Westmont Park District website.

The Westmont Lions invite all to attend Oktoberfest Westmont and enjoy live music, great oktoberfest food and brews, dancing, and more. For more information, visit westmontlionsfoundation.org.

FAMILY FALL DECORATION MEETUP
October 10 - 9:30AM-7:30PM
Westmont Public Library - 428 N. Cass
Drop in on your day off from school and create some fun, fall decorations with the whole family. For more information, visit the WPL website

SPOOKY SNOW GLOBES
October 12 - Sign-up, 6:30-7:30PM
Westmont Public Library - 428 N. Cass
Create your own snow globe by using glass jars, spooky themed figurines, and lots of glitter. For teens in grades 6-12. Sign up via the WPL events calendar.  

STORYWALK - THE LITTLE GHOST WHO LOST HER BOO
October 21-24
Westmont Public Library at Diane Main Park - 200 W 59th Street
Enjoy The Little Ghost Who Lost Her Boo by Elaine Bickell with the whole family while you stroll through Diane Main Park. Simply follow the path around the lake, reading signs placed along the trail, to take in the full story. For more information, visit the WPL website.

WICKED WEST FEST HOME DECORATING CONTEST
Voting October 20-28
Homes Throughout Westmont
Sign up and enter the Wicked West Fest Home Decorating Contest! Pictures of each home will be posted online and the public will be invited to vote for their favorites. For more information, visit the Westmont Special Events website at westmontevents.com.  

WICKED WEST FEST HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST
October 22 - Sign-up 10:15AM
Downtown Westmont - Intersection of Cass & Irving
Dress up for Halloween and come to downtown Westmont to be part of this fun costume contest. There will be six categories. For more information, contact Westmont Special Events at wsec@westmontevents.com or 630-829-9378.

PUMPKIN SMASHING EXTRAVAGANZA 
October 22 - 11AM-NOON
Downtown Westmont - Intersection of Cass & Irving
Representatives of various Westmont groups will go 20 feet up in the air in a bucket truck and then throw their decorated pumpkin at a target below as they compete for the titles of Pumpkin Smashing King and Queen. All of the fun is an effort to promote post-Halloween pumpkin composting. For more information, email us at communications@westmont.il.gov

TRICK OR TREAT TRAIL 
October 22 - 11AM-1PM
Downtown Westmont on Cass
Come to downtown Westmont in your Halloween costume and go trick or treating at participating businesses throughout the downtown business district.  For more info, contact the Westmont Chamber at wcctb@westmontchamber.com or 630-960-5553.

CASKETS ON CASS RACE
October 22 - 12:30PM
Downtown Westmont on Cass
Caskets on Cass is a foot race of homemade caskets sponsored by community organizations, businesses, and area residents. To learn more and sign up on the Chamber website at westmontchamber.com or contact the Westmont Chamber at 630-960-5553. 

HAUNTED FOREST TOUR  
October 22 - 3:00-9:30PM
Diane Main Park - 200 W. 59th Street
Follow the trail and take a haunted hayrack ride through Smith Woods as ghosts, ghouls and monsters come alive before your very eyes! Little Monsters Showing for younger viewers 3 to 6:30pm. Sheer Terror Tours from 7 to 9:30pm. $6 per person. For more information, visit the Westmont Park District website

ZOMBIE CRAWL 
October 29, 2-6:00PM
Locations Throughout Westmont
Hosted by Westmont Special Events, this event takes guests throughout the community visiting participating pubs and restaurants. Each location will have food and beverage specials as well as a fun Halloween activity. This is a 21 and over event. Tickets and registration information will be published soon at www.westmontevents.com.

SPOOKTACULAR FUN NIGHT  
October 31, 5-7:00PM
Westmont Park District Community Center - 75 E. Richmond
The whole family is invited to a safe and fun-filled evening as you trick or treat through the Park District Community Center. Meet Wacky Drac, create a spooky craft, or try your luck at a game or two - A variety of spooktacular activities will make your evening fangtastic!
