The Westmont Special Events Corporation (WSEC) is announcing the Westmont Community Photo Contest, which begins today and will accept submissions through September 1. This contest is being coordinated in conjunction with the Westmont Rotary Club. Photo submissions may be selected and used in the Rotary’s 2023 Westmont Community Calendar.
“We are excited to host this contest and work with the Westmont Rotary on this project,” said Westmont Special Events Volunteer Larry McIntyre. “The Rotary Calendar is a fundraiser for their organization and supports their various charitable projects including community scholarships. We’re happy to help with this effort as well as provide an opportunity for area photographers to showcase their work.”
The contest will be held now through September 1, 2022. Up to 14 photos may be chosen for the 2023 Rotary Calendar. The main criteria is capturing the best of what Westmont has to offer. “We’re hoping that everyone will spread the word about this contest so that we receive hundreds of submissions,” said Westmont Rotary member Russ Manney, who is coordinating the calendar project. “We’re announcing the contest in time for photographers to take photos at upcoming events such as the Independence Day Celebration at Ty Warner Park and Taste of Westmont next weekend. We want to thank everyone in advance for their support.”
