The Village of Westmont and the Westmont Chamber of Commerce are coordinating a Ribbon Cutting and official Grand Opening for the recently completed Addington Plaza, which is located near the Westmont Train Station at Cass and West Quincy Street. The ribbon cutting is scheduled for Thursday, June 30 at 6:30 p.m. Parking will be available in the commuter parking lot near the Westmont Village Hall at 31 W. Quincy Street.
“We look forward to being with the friends, family and colleagues of former Westmont Mayor Jim Addington to celebrate the grand opening of this plaza named in his honor,” said Westmont Mayor Ron Gunter. “We’re excited that this project has now been completed and is open for the public to enjoy this summer. We invite the entire community to attend the event.”
Jim Addington, who passed away in the summer of 2019, served as an elected official and community volunteer for more than four decades. He served as Mayor of Westmont and presided over the community’s 75th anniversary celebration in 1996. His community involvement included participation with the Westmont Lion’s Club and he was instrumental in the coordination of numerous community events.
The Village of Westmont and the Westmont Chamber of Commerce invite the entire community to attend this special presentation.
