The annual Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 30 at 10:30 a.m. in downtown Westmont. The parade will travel south on Cass Avenue from Naperville Road and through downtown Westmont before heading east on Richmond Street and ending at Veterans Memorial Park, 75 E. Richmond, for a Memorial Day Ceremony. Westmont resident Marcel Levesque, who served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, will be recognized and honored during the Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony. Cass Avenue will be temporarily closed from Naperville Road to Richmond Street during the parade.
On Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, the Westmont Village Hall and Village Department offices will be closed. Normal business hours for the Village Hall and Village Departments will resume on Tuesday, May 31. The Westmont Park District and Westmont Public Library will be closed on Memorial Day as well. The Park District Community Center restrooms will be open and available to the public during and after the Memorial Day services.
When the Village Hall and department offices are closed, bill payments can be made via the village website using the MAKE A PAYMENT icon on the homepage. Also, there are two after-hour drop boxes where residents can drop off their village bill payments: West Quincy Street near the Commuter Train Station across from the Village Hall, or at the Westmont Police Department at 500 N. Cass Avenue. These payments will be processed on the next business day.
NO GARBAGE/RECYCLING PICKUP ON MEMORIAL DAY
There will be no recycling and garbage collection on Monday, May 30, 2022. The remainder of the week will follow the usual holiday schedule with each pickup being one day later than your regular pickup day (IE: Monday pickups will occur on Tuesday; Tuesday pickups will occur on Wednesday; etc.) The last pickup of the week will be on Saturday, June 4, 2022.
