Westmont, Illinois - Date Issued: April 6, 2022
The Westmont Public Works Department will be hosting their second annual open house on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at their facility at 155 E. Burlington Avenue.
“This year, we’ve moved our open house event to coincide with National Public Works Week,” said Public Works Director Mike Ramsey. “Last fall, our event had a great turnout and we’re hoping for an even bigger event this year.” Ramsey, who has worked for the Village of Westmont for over 40 years will be retiring this June. Ramsey added, “I am thankful for the opportunity that the Village of Westmont has provided me for all these years. It has been my honor to serve the residents of Westmont and I’m pleased to have been a part of the development and completion of our new Public Works facility. The open house is a chance for residents to see our new building and learn more about all we do.”
The event will include facility tours, a forestry demonstration, tree species contest, fire hydrant demonstration, street sign giveaway, public works/community trivia contest, a bee observation station, touch-a-truck display, raffles, games and more. There will also be a station designated just for children with hands-on crafts.
Food and refreshments will be served. For more information, please contact Westmont Public Works at 630-981-6270.
