The DuPage County Community Resource Information System (CRIS) has recently announced that the State of Illinois is moving forward with its Illinois Homeowner Assistance Fund (ILHAF) program to provide financial relief to homeowners who need assistance paying their mortgage due to COVID-19. Starting April 11 and continuing through May 31, 2022, the state will accept applications from homeowners for grants to eliminate or reduce past-due mortgage and property tax payments.
Eligible households will be able to apply for up to $30,000 to pay past due mortgage payments, property taxes, property insurance, and delinquent homeowner and/or condo association fees. For more information on program eligibility and how to apply, please visit the Illinois Housing Help website.
