UPDATED April 7, 2022*

To celebrate Arbor Day, the Village of Westmont Environmental Improvement Committee (EIC) is coordinating its annual tree seedling giveaway.  On Arbor Day, Friday, April 29, Village and Library staff along with EIC volunteers will be at the Westmont Library, 428 N. Cass Avenue, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., to hand out tree seedlings to Westmont residents.

"Given the recent losses in many evergreens in our region, we are happy to be offering all evergreen seedlings this year,” said Village Forester Jon Yeater.  “Evergreens are great for screening, windbreaks, and wildlife habitat.  Evergreens of all sizes provide critical winter habitat for non-migratory birds, helping to protect and shelter them from cold and precipitation.  This year's selections provide a fit for every size yard."
