ComEd has announced a program that assists residents with their energy bills. Following are program details in which residents may be able to save money as well as get financial assistance and energy saving options:
PAYMENT METHODS
- Additional fees are no longer assessed by ComEd on payments made by credit and debit card, or electronic check.
- PayPal is also now available to pay ComEd bills. Learn more at ComEd.com/Pay.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
- SMART ASSISTANCE MANAGER (SAM) assists residents with exploring financial assistance options and verifying eligibility. This online tool offers personalized recommendations customized for you. Visit ComEd.com/SAM to learn more.
- BUDGET BILLING assists with consistent monthly electric bills. Budget Billing eliminates seasonal variations by spreading costs evenly each month throughout the year.
- DEFERRED PAYMENT ARRANGEMENT consists of first making a down payment towards the current owed amount. Then, installment payments can be made towards the remaining balance to bring the account up to date. Learn more at ComEd.com/Pay.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Free energy assessments, discounts and rebates on a variety of ENERGY STAR® certified appliances, smart thermostats, qualifying high-efficiency equipment and online tools to help manage energy use. Learn more at ComEd.com/HomeSavings.
DUPAGE COUNTY LIHEAP
DuPage County offers a Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) to assist people in need with utility bills. This program helps people in low-income households pay for home energy services such as gas and electric service. LIHEAP is accepting applications and participants must meet specific criteria to qualify.
