“As the threat of extended freezing temperatures continues throughout the winter months, we want to remind citizens to prepare themselves to be safe against the threat of severe weather,” said Westmont Fire Chief Steve Riley. “Each year, we identify and update our warming center list so that our citizens are aware of locations that they can go to stay warm during emergency situations. We invite residents to check out the resources available as they are listed on our village Severe Weather Safety webpage.”
In many communities, Police Departments, Fire Departments, Public Libraries, and Park District facilities serve as warming/cooling center locations. Please be aware that warming/cooling centers may have specific guidelines regarding COVID-19 safety protocols. The following is a list of warming centers in Westmont:
