Westmont, Illinois -- Date Issued: December 21, 2021
Waste Management will be offering a special yard waste and brush pickup that will coincide with the scheduled holiday tree pickup January 3-14. All yard waste must be in the appropriate yard waste bags or containers and must have a yard waste sticker on each bag or container. As always, all brush must be bundled according to Waste Management guidelines and does not need a sticker. This will be the last yard waste and brush pickup opportunity until the program resumes in April. For the yard waste and brush guidelines, please visit the Village website recycling page.
Holiday trees should be put out with your other recycling and waste on your typical pickup day. Trees MUST be free of decorations, tinsel, and lights to be picked up and composted. Also, trees should NOT be placed in garbage bags or liners of any sort. Trees taller than 6 feet should be cut in half for easier disposal. All trees picked up during this timeframe will be composted.
Yard waste, brush, and trees put out after the first two full weeks of the year will be considered garbage and are subject to a fine. For more information, please contact Waste Management at wm.comor 800-964-8988.
