Westmont, Illinois -- Date Issued: November 1, 2021
On October 30, the Westmont Police Department, along with local business Docu-Shred, hosted their biannual paper shredding event to benefit Special Olympics Illinois Torch Run Fundraising Campaign. The event raised a record-breaking $5,118.00 for Special Olympics Illinois. Docu-Shred reported that they shredded 9500 pounds of paper during the event.
“We want to thank Docu-Shred once again for their continued support and partnership for these events,” said Westmont Police Sergeant Craig Gomorczak. “This was our most successful paper shred fundraiser to date. Due to its overwhelming support and popularity, this event will continue to be scheduled in the spring and fall of each year. We thank everyone who came out to support this event and Special Olympics Illinois.”
