Mark your calendars and get ready for Wicked West Fest 2021!  Following are the details for several events on this year’s Wicked West Fest schedule:

WESTMONT SCARECROW DECORATING CONTEST

September 27 - Sign-up Deadline 

Downtown Westmont

Families, businesses, schools and community organizations are invited to participate in the Westmont Scarecrow Decorating Contest!  Sign up, create your scarecrow, and drop off to the Westmont Chamber, One South Cass Avenue, Suite 101, by September 27.  Scarecrows will be on display throughout downtown Westmont and the entire community is asked to vote online.  For more info and ti sign up, contact the Westmont Chamber via email at wcctb@westmontchamber.com or call 630-960-5553. October 3, NOON-4PM

Gregg House Museum - 115 S. Linden

Come to the Gregg House Museum for a variety of fun family activities: Make a scarecrow (nominal fee), decorate pumpkins, meet a beekeeper, enjoy music fun with Tim Wilsey, visit the petting zoo, pan for gold, and more.  For more info, visit the Westmont Park District website or call 630-963-5252.

PUMPKIN FLOTILLA  

October 8, 6-7PM

Diane Main Park - 200 W. 59th Street

Bring the whole family to this free event and celebrate the spirit of Halloween by listening to spooky stories while watching the Pumpkin Flotilla which sets sail into Twin Lakes at sundown.  For more information contact the Westmont Park District via their website or 630-963-5252.

HAUNTED FOREST TOUR  

October 16, 5-9:30PM

Diane Main Park - 200 W. 59th Street

Follow the trail and take a haunted hayrack ride through Smith Woods as ghosts, ghouls and monsters come alive before your very eyes! There will be a Merry Monsters Matinee, friendly monsters, performance from 5 to 6:30PM for younger children; Sheer Terror Tours run from 7  to 9:30pm. WICKED WEST FEST HALLOWEEN DECORATING CONTEST 

Voting October 22 thru Halloween

Homes Throughout Westmont

Decorate your home for Halloween then either send in up to five pictures of your entry, or the WSEC will visit your home to take photos. Winner will be judged by online public voting.  Judging criteria will include: theme, creativity, and overall impact.  Entries must be received by Friday, October 22.  Winners will be announced on Halloween. GHOST STORIES AT SMITH WOODS

For those who like a good scare, and think they are brave enough, there will be a fire pit, telling of scary ghost stories, and snacks. Register online at westmontparks.org or 630-963-5252.

WICKED WEST FEST HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST 

October 23, 10:30AM

Downtown Westmont - Intersection of Cass and Irving

Dress up for Halloween and come to downtown Westmont to be part of this fun costume contest.  There will be six categories: Newborn to 1-year olds, 2-5 years old, 6-9 years old, 10-13 years old, 14 & older, and a group/family category (Must have at least 3 people).  For more information, contact Westmont Special Events at wsec@westmontevents.com or 630-829-9378.

PUMPKIN SMASHING EXTRAVAGANZA 

October 23, 11AM 

Downtown Westmont - Intersection of Cass and Irving

Westmont community groups and public agencies will compete in our annual pumpkin smashing extravaganza. Competitors will go 20 feet up in the air in a bucket truck and then throw their pumpkin at a target below in an attempt to earn the titles of Pumpkin King and Queen.  All of the fun is an effort to promote pumpkin recycling/composting.  For more information, contact communications@westmont.il.gov or 630-417-0280.

TRICK OR TREAT TRAIL

Downtown Westmont on Cass

CASKETS ON CASS RACE

October 23, NOON

Downtown Westmont on Cass

Caskets on Cass is a foot race of homemade caskets sponsored by community organizations, businesses, and area residents.  To learn more and sign up on the Chamber website www.westmontchamber.com or contact the Westmont Chamber at 630-960-5553. 

SPOOKTACULAR FUN NIGHT  

October 29, 5-7:00PM

Westmont Park District - 75 E. Richmond

Enjoy a safe and warm Halloween as the whole family is invited to a fun-filled time as you trick or treat with us!  There will be games, concessions, a parade of costumes, and more.  For more information, contact the Westmont Park District at westmontparks.org or 630-963-5252.

ZOMBIE CRAWL 

October 30, 2-6:00PM

Locations Throughout Westmont

This event has been a tremendous success and provides an opportunity for adults to enjoy the Halloween season.  This event, hosted by Westmont Special Events, takes guests throughout the community visiting participating pubs and restaurants. Each location will have food and beverage specials as well as a fun Halloween activity.  There will be two routes to choose from.  This is a 21 and over event.  The $18 fee covers transportation, event coordination, and an event t-shirt.  Tickets and registration at www.westmontevents.com.  For more info, contact WSEC at wsec@westmontevents.com or 630-829-9378.
