The Westmont Public Library is once again hosting their annual Monarch Festival. This year’s event will take place the week of September 13-18. Following is this year’s schedule:
Monday, September 13
Join us virtually on our Westmont Public Library YouTube Channel to hear naturalist and Master Gardener Pat Miller talk about monarch butterflies, their life cycle, and migration. The program will include an educational video at start at 10 a.m. on the Westmont Library YouTube Channel.
Wednesday, September 15
Butterfly-themed Adult Take & Make craft kits will be available for pickup in the lobby. At 6:30 p.m., the Conservation Foundation will be at the Library to talk about the importance of monarch butterflies and the struggle to maintain their habitat. The program is presented in partnership with the Westmont Environmental Improvement Committee and sponsored by the Friends of the Westmont Public Library. Register online.
Friday, September 17
Throughout the weekend, the public is invited to visit Diane Main Park, 200 W 59th Street, and enjoy a monarch-themed StoryWalk.
Saturday, September 18
To wrap up Monarch Festival 2021, the Westmont Public Library invites everyone to Ty Warner Park from 10 a.m. to noon for family fun including crafts, coloring, and do-it-yourself storytime! This event will be held at Ty Warner Park Pavilion located near the Burr Oak Drive entrance, 801 Burr Oak Drive.
