The Coffee for Champions fundraiser, formerly known as Cop on a Rooftop, will take place at participating Dunkin’ locations on Friday, August 20. The community is invited to come out and join the Westmont Police Department in support of Special Olympics Illinois.
Both Dunkin’ locations in Westmont, 19 W. 63rd Street and 121 W. Ogden Avenue, will be participating from 5 a.m. to 12 noon. During the event, Westmont Police officers will be waving to the public from the rooftop of these Dunkin’ locations as they encourage the community to stop by and participate. Additional police personnel, community volunteers, and area Special Olympics athletes will be collecting donations and selling the 2021 Special Olympics Torch Run T-shirts at the event.
This year marks the 18th Anniversary of the Dunkin’ Coffee for Champions event with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois. This event has been a huge success over the years with more than $5.75 million being raised through this partnership.
The Westmont Police Department has also scheduled a paper shredding event with Docu-Shred on Saturday, October 16 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Police Department, 500 N. Cass Avenue. This event will also support Special Olympics Illinois. Additional information will be announced prior to the event.
