“This will be a great opportunity to showcase one of our new business success stories,” says Mayor Ron Gunter regarding the “Coffee with the Mayor” forum slated for August 10, 10 a.m. at Standard Market, 333 E. Ogden Avenue.
“Of course, the great people at Standard Market will be on hand to talk about their wonderful business as well as their restaurant Bakersfield, but we plan to also have representatives from the Westmont Auto Mile. Since this coffee will be on Ogden Avenue, we’d like to give some focus to the businesses and topics on the north side of our community.” Gregg Pill, who is a co-owner of the OBRFC and also the President of the Westmont Chamber, will give an update regarding recent activities with the Chamber and in the Westmont business community.
The “Coffee with the Mayor” event invites the entire community to come out and discuss important topics regarding all aspects of the community. “We ask everyone to come on out, support our local businesses, buy a cup of coffee, and join us in the conversation,” says Mayor Gunter. “We’re interested in hearing all of your questions and ideas. Working together and keeping the best interests of the entire community in mind, we will be successful.”
Upcoming Coffee with the Mayor events will include the Westmont Library on Saturday, September 7, 10 a.m. at the Westmont Library, and in October, we’re working on a special event in which we focus on topics related to the south of our community at Harvest Pancake House and Grill, 339 W. 63rd Street.
