Westmont, Illinois -- Date Issued: August 9, 2021
DuPage Senior Citizen Council (DSCC) is offering a new service for seniors to receive a friendly phone call from a volunteer. Senior isolation is a health and safety risk for seniors and this program can help them stay connected. Information regarding this new DSCC program, along Meals on Wheels, Well-being Checks, Yard Clean-ups, Pet Care Assistance, and more, can be found on the DuPage Senior Citizen Council website.
FRIENDLY PHONE CALL SERVICE
Seniors who sign up for the Friendly Phone Call service receive phone calls each week from a volunteer. During these calls, the volunteer and the senior get to know each other, share stories and talk about whatever the senior would like to talk about. Over time, both seniors and volunteers look forward to this important connection time and enjoy the new friendship.
SIGN UP TO RECEIVE FRIENDLY PHONE CALLS
If you would like to sign up to receive phone calls for yourself or someone else, please fill out the DSCC website and a service coordinator will contact you to set up the service.
BECOME A FRIENDLY PHONE CALL VOLUNTEER
If you like talking on the phone and find it easy to carry on conversations, then you might be the person our seniors would love to talk to each week. To learn more about how you can volunteer in the Friendly Phone Call service, visit the DSCC website.
