Westmont, Illinois -- Date Issued: May 27, 2021
For the first time today, the Westmont Fire Department administered COVID-19 vaccines to homebound residents. Several Westmont residents who had registered for vaccinations with the DuPage County Health Department were visited by Westmont paramedics and received their vaccinations. “Everyone was very thankful that we could do this service for them, they didn’t know how they would get the vaccination otherwise,” stated Lynn Dralle, Westmont Fire Department EMS Director.
Anyone who is homebound and would like to receive the vaccination should contact the DuPage County Health Department or register using their online form. For further assistance, please call 630-682-7400.
The DuPage County Health Department (DCHD) partnered with the DuPage County Fire Chiefs Association, Region 8 Emergency Medical Service System (EMS), and the Westmont Fire Department to expand current efforts to vaccinate homebound individuals in DuPage County.
“We are committed to protecting all of our residents, especially our most vulnerable,” said Westmont Fire Chief Steve Riley. “This partnership allows us the ability to expand access to the vaccine for individuals who are homebound or who cannot get to a vaccination site.”
