At the June 20 Village Board Meeting, the community event permits for Westmont Cruisin’ Nights and the Taste of Westmont were approved. “Everyone is eager to have our wonderful community events return to our downtown,” said Mayor Ron Gunter. “We want to thank Westmont Special Events and all of our community organizations for coordinating these events that provide entertainment and recreation for all ages.”
“We were hopeful that we would be able to host these events in 2021, but we really didn’t expect things to re-open so quickly,” said Dave Gullotto, Westmont Special Event President. “We will be in serious need of volunteers and event sponsors. Westmont Special Events is a not-for-profit, volunteer-driven organization, and our success depends on community involvement. WESTMONT CRUISIN’ NIGHTS & STREET FAIR

Downtown Westmont on Cass Avenue
Westmont Cruisin’ Nights & Street Fair was proclaimed “Best weekly summer car show in the Chicagoland area” by WGN-RADIO. This event provides fun for all ages. Each week will feature live bands, food and business specials, vendors, kids activities, and of course, three blocks of Cool Cars On Cass. Live music will be featured at various locations throughout the event on different nights.

Taste of Westmont is an award-winning festival that offers four days of fun for the whole family featuring great music on two stages, wonderful food, crafters, kid’s activities, and an all-ages carnival. This year’s musical line-up will feature a Blues Brothers Tribute Band, Classic Rock, a tribute to Muddy Waters and blues jam, and the best Billy Joel Tribute Band in the country.

“Since we were not able to hold our usual events last year, we were unable to generate revenue through our sponsors as we’ve done in the past,” said Kristina Kaniauskaite, Westmont Special Events Executive Director. “Within the next week, we will publish our sponsorship opportunities packet and we will be adding a new opportunity for individuals and families to support these events. Based on the amount of inquiries and feedback we receive from the public, it is clear that many people in the community love these events. This is their chance to support Westmont Special Events and make sure that these festivals and other recreation activities continue. All support is appreciated.”
