Westmont, Illinois - Date Issued: April 26, 2021
On April 24, the Westmont Police Department hosted the semi-annual DEA National Take Back Day event in Westmont. The event, which was held at both the Westmont Police Department and Westmont Fire Department Headquarters, collected over 375 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs, which is 100 pounds more than last year’s collection. The goal of the program is to collect unused drugs so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner.
“The Westmont Police Department wishes to thank our citizens for participating in this program,” said Westmont Deputy Chief of Administration Brian Gruen. “We’re happy to see more residents helping to prevent the misuse of prescription drugs and disposing them safely.”
