Westmont, Illinois -- Date Issued: April 20, 2021
At a special Village Board meeting held on Thursday, April 15, Assistant Village Manager/Finance Director Spencer Parker reviewed the proposed village budget for 2021-2022. Last year’s budget took into account the possible effects of the pandemic on the economy. While the economy is improving, the Village continues to be cautious regarding economic projections for the next year.
Prior to the budget meeting, Village Manager Steve May made a presentation regarding introductory information pertaining to the budget process as well as the design and function of a village municipality. The goal of the presentation was to provide basic information for Westmont citizens who are new to the village budgetary process.
Links to the presentations have been published on the village website so that residents can review these materials.

The Village of Westmont fiscal budget runs each year from May 1 to April 30. The Westmont village budget is typically approved in April so that the new budget is in place by May 1, which provides the time needed to adopt the annual appropriations ordinance which, per State mandate, must be filed with the county within the 1st quarter of the fiscal year.
