Each year, the Village Staff and Village Board work together to develop and adopt the annual budget. The Village Budget year runs from May through the end of April the following year. The creation of the budget takes many months of preparation.
“As we continue to navigate the impact from the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to be cautious as we project our local revenue stream and how that affects our ability to take on various projects and associated costs,” said Assistant Village Manager and Westmont Finance Director Spencer Parker. “I feel that last year we created a successful model for addressing current economic concerns, so this will serve as the template for the 2021-2022 budget.”
This year’s budget workshop is scheduled for Thursday, April 15, 4:30 p.m. This will be a public meeting and citizens will be able to attend virtually or in person. The week of the meeting, citizens will be able to submit comments via an online form on the Village website. Additional meeting information will be provided on the meeting agenda once it is published.
