Westmont, Illinois - Date Issued: December 4, 2020
In celebration of Westmont’s 100th anniversary, Whiskey Hill Brewing Company, located at 1115 Zygmunt Circle in Westmont, is creating a special craft beer and asking the community to get involved and help with naming the new brew. Citizens can send their 100th anniversary ale name suggestions to info@whiskeyhillbrewing.com through Monday, December 21.
“We’re striving to create an American Amber Ale that is not too bitter, not too sweet, and has a balanced flavor that can be enjoyed by everyone,” said Whiskey Hill Head Brewer Eric Flores. “Since we’re celebrating the 100th anniversary, we plan to use centennial hops, which has light citrus notes, subtle earthy notes, and a carmel-ish flavor.” Flores and Whiskey Hill owner Matt Weil are now asking the community to assist with coming up with a name for the anniversary ale. Once a name is chosen, a logo will be created for the beer.
The anniversary craft brew is expected to be ready for sale near the end of January 2021. The beer will be available for purchase at Whiskey Hill Brewing. There is also a plan being developed with the Westmont Historical Society to sell the beer along with a copy of the new Westmont history book “Images of America: Westmont” for a special price. Product updates will be posted on the Whiskey Hill Brewing website at whiskeyhillbrewing.com.
