Updated Info: The victim was a teenager, and the offender grabbed the backpack they were wearing.
At approximately 9:08 PM on Monday, September 14, 2020, Westmont Police officers responded to the 800 block of Blackhawk Drive for a delayed report of a suspect that followed and grabbed a juvenile walking through Ty Warner Park. The juvenile was able to break free and flee the area. The suspect was described as a male, white, mid 20’s to mid 30’s, approximately six feet tall, average build, dark hair, light colored pants, dark hooded sweatshirt and dirty gym shoes. Officers checked the park and surrounding area but were unable to locate anyone matching the description. No injuries were reported.
This incident remains under investigation and the police department has increased patrol in the area.
